Sarkhatane is a root found primarily in Senegal and Mali, and is a part of the Corrigiola telephiifolia (strapwort) species of plants. Sarkhatane roots and seeds are crushed and combined with resins, seeds, plants and oils, but alone it gives off a delightful peppery, woody yet floral scent. It delivers a soothing smell, and is good for purification, depression, and anxiety. Said to bring good luck when burned.
